Overview

Why RII Plant Operator Ticket Check?

RII tickets are the nationally recognised units of competency for operating earthmoving and civil plant, such as excavators, loaders, dozers, graders, rollers and haul trucks. They come from the RII (Resources and Infrastructure Industry) training package and are issued by RTOs as a Statement of Attainment, with one unit code per machine. Most earthmoving plant doesn't need a licence, so the RII ticket is what shows a worker has been trained on it.

Older workers may hold state-issued certificates of competency from before the national system. Many sites also ask for a current Verification of Competency (VOC) on top of the ticket, because a ticket shows training was completed, sometimes many years ago, while a VOC shows a recent assessment on the machine. Plant that does need a licence, such as forklifts and cranes, is covered by a High Risk Work Licence, not an RII ticket.

How to check a worker's RII tickets

  1. Ask for the Statement of Attainment from the RTO, not just a wallet card or a list on a resume.
  2. Read every unit code and title. Each machine has its own unit, so an excavator unit doesn't cover a dozer.
  3. Check the RTO name and code are printed, and that the name matches the worker's ID.
  4. Decide whether your site also needs a VOC, and keep both on file.

With RefChecks the worker uploads their Statement of Attainment or operator ticket. We list every RII unit code and title shown, record the RTO and issue date, and flag anything inconsistent for review. Order it from Background Checks, on any plan.

What's Included

RII Plant Operator Ticket Check Features

Mining & Quarries

Mine and quarry operators check the RII units for each machine an operator will run, then add a VOC for site sign-off.

Civil Construction

Road, rail civil and subdivision crews run a mix of plant. A list of each worker's RII units shows who can move between machines.

Labour Hire & Plant Hire

Labour hire and wet-hire firms verify an operator's tickets before sending them out with a machine, so the client sees the evidence up front.

Principal Contractor Audits

Principal contractors ask for proof of competency for every operator on site. A stored, itemised record makes that quick to produce.

Process

How It Works

1

Send the Request

Order a plant operator ticket check from Background Checks. The worker gets a secure link.

2

Worker Uploads Their Tickets

They upload their Statement of Attainment or operator ticket, with up to three files if their units are on separate documents.

3

We List Every RII Unit

We record each RII unit code and title we find, plus the RTO and issue date. We only report what is on the document.

4

Result in Their Report

The itemised result and the documents are saved in the worker's report.
