Holders can't work in Australia on a Visitor visa, though they might be able to volunteer. Check a worker's visa conditions before they start.
Overview
Information checked 31 October 2026.
A Visitor visa (subclass 600) is for holidays, visiting family and friends, business visits and similar purposes. Home Affairs says holders can't work in Australia on a Visitor visa, but they might be able to do volunteer work.
RefChecks runs a Right to Work check through VEVO: the worker gives consent and their details, and you get their visa, its conditions and expiry in their report. Related: condition 8101, Bridging visa A (subclass 010).

What's Included
The Right to Work check confirms the worker holds a subclass 600 visa, with its conditions and expiry.
The VEVO result is saved in the worker's report, so you can show you checked their work rights before they started.
Temporary visas end. The result shows the expiry date, so you can see when the right to work ends.
Process
Order a Right to Work check from Background Checks. The worker gets a secure link.
They confirm consent and enter their passport and visa details.
We check VEVO and save the visa, its conditions and expiry in the worker's report.
