High Risk Work Licence — verification in NSW
A High Risk Work Licence covers nationally defined classes of high risk work — forklift operation, crane and hoist operation, elevating work platforms over 11 metres, dogging, rigging, scaffolding and pressure equipment operation among them. NSW licences are issued by SafeWork NSW to a national standard, and each licence lists the classes the holder is qualified for.
Who needs it
Operators performing any licensed class of high risk work in NSW: forklift (LF/LO), crane classes, boom-type EWP (WP), dogging (DG), rigging (RB/RI/RA), scaffolding (SB/SI/SA) and pressure equipment classes. Central to construction, mining, warehousing, manufacturing and logistics roles.
How verification works
A register search returns the holder, the licence status, the classes held and the expiry date. High risk work licences are issued for five years. Because the licence classes are nationally defined and mutually recognised, a current NSW High Risk Work Licence is valid Australia-wide. Refchecks verifies the licence details a candidate provides against the NSW register and records the holder name, licence status and expiry where shown, with evidence captured at the time of the search.
